Tori's favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies

I like to play around a little with recipes I know, like cookies. /this past weekend I decided to try something different as I was baking some cookies. Here is the recipe:

1/2 c butter
1/2 c margarine
1 c granulated sugar
1-1/2 c brown sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbsp vanilla
2-1/2 c all purpose flour
1-1/2 c almond flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Preheat the oven to 350˚. Cream the butter and the sugars. Add the eggs and the the vanilla.
Add the flours one cup at a time and the baking soda and the salt. Mix in the chips. Spoon on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10-14 min. Let cool.
These didn't last long at my house this weekend. I need to find a better hiding place and a better storage container. Do you have any recommendations?

Monday Rewind

Let's take some time to pause and let everyone know something great you did this past week.
This last week I made a crayon wreath and I also experimented with some cookies, adding almond flour to them. They were yummy! I will share the recipe tomorrow. What have you done?

A New Door Wreath

I saw this in another post and thought I would give it a try. It was relatively easy. I cut out the back with cardboard and glued on crayons. It took close to 3 boxes of 24 crayons. So it was also really inexpensive since crayons are at such a low cost right now. I think it still needs something. I might add a small saying to the bottom of the wreath. What do you think?

Back to School

Our eldest daughter started Kindergarten. It is at once a joyous and a sad event. It is great she will go on and progress. At the same time, it is going to be a little empty. This journey is the beginning of a longer journey.
Her teacher read the students "The Kissing Hand" and gave them an assignment to retell the story and create an activity to go with it. Handprint and footprint art, a blog I found is doing a post about the activities to go with the book.

That's a surprise!

I am totally unprepared for my daughter's first loose tooth. She hasn't started school yet, and it took me by surprise. I was looking at her mouth today and one of her bottom front teeth was askew. I asked if it was wiggly. She said yes. Ryan double checked for me. It was. I'm not sure what I want to do. How much is the going rate for teeth these days?

What I have been up to

I have been making a couple of bags. The plaid is from the madras tote tutorial at Noodlehead. The bottom pocket was a little bit short, but I like it. I can't remember where the other tutorial came from. It essentially gave dimensions and had you design the look yourself.
There are other bags I want to make, when I get the time.
What type of tote/bag tutorial or pattern do you like?

Matched

I finished the book, Matched, by Ally Condie. I am not sure how I feel about it. Has anyone else read it? What do you think about it?
