Back to School
Our eldest daughter started Kindergarten. It is at once a joyous and a sad event. It is great she will go on and progress. At the same time, it is going to be a little empty. This journey is the beginning of a longer journey.
Her teacher read the students "The Kissing Hand" and gave them an assignment to retell the story and create an activity to go with it. Handprint and footprint art, a blog I found is doing a post about the activities to go with the book.

That's a surprise!

I am totally unprepared for my daughter's first loose tooth. She hasn't started school yet, and it took me by surprise. I was looking at her mouth today and one of her bottom front teeth was askew. I asked if it was wiggly. She said yes. Ryan double checked for me. It was. I'm not sure what I want to do. How much is the going rate for teeth these days?

What I have been up to
There are other bags I want to make, when I get the time.
What type of tote/bag tutorial or pattern do you like?

Matched

I finished the book, Matched, by Ally Condie. I am not sure how I feel about it. Has anyone else read it? What do you think about it?

Summer Skirts
We have been busy with activities around the house and school. Here are some skirts I made for the girls. They both have decided it is going to be a summer of skirts. It is the simple skirt from Made. You can find the tutorial here. I got the fabric from Jo-Anns. They had a sale over the weekend.

Next up, some nightgowns.

Creating a home.
Life gets hectic. It's part of living. Right now, the girls are drawing. Night time is still an issue with us. Both girls wake up in the middle of the night.
I want to improve the spirit in our home. I know it will be through small things. So, today, I am trying to have relaxing music. we are listening to "church" music. It has helped them to be more cooperative with each other. It's a start.
